Company description
YoYo Games develops and published commercial games for mobile platforms (iPhone, iPad, Android, Symbian, PSP) and Facebook. All games are created with GameMaker. Development takes place both in-house (in Dundee, Schotland) and in close collaboration with teams of independent developers. During the past year we published over 15 high-quality games. Most of them got featured by Apple and/or Android Market and got high review rating. Popular titles include They Need To Be Fed, PolluShot, Karoshi, and Super Snake HD.Job description
YoYo Games develops and publishes mobile games in close collaboration with ten teams of independent developers. Such a team typically consists of a programmer and a 2D artist, sometimes including an additional game or level designer. For some of our teams we are looking for a (part-time) freelance 2D artist. As artist you are responsible for the overall visual style of the game and for the creation of the game assets (sprites, backgrounds, etc.). You can use your own preferred tools. If you are experienced in those aspects you can often also contribute to the game or level design. We normally take on projects that take less than 3 months to finished (working part-time on it). This can easily be combined with a (game-art) study. The teams develop their own ideas but are advised and assisted by Mark Overmars. The company also provided game play testing and does all the marketing for the games. Revenues are split between the team members. Because of the experience and large portfolio of YoYo Games our games are normally successful (e.g. they are featured by Apple). For more information, please contact the head of Studios, Mark Overmars (mark@yoyogames.com).
