The Company
Our client is the leading provider of applications to enhance interactive communications using virtual content on IM, e-mail and social networks through downloading virtual content such as emoticons, winks, mood avatars and animations.
Since its launch in 2007, the company has grown rapidly and now boasts a user base in excess of over 5 million unique users, with growth accelerating at 150,000 installs a day. Today, the Company monetizes its free content through a combination of display advertising and search distribution. Revenue for 2011 is projected to be over $17 million, growing to $28 million in 2012.
Having recently completed a currency system and with the content so popular it is now extending its offering into games and gifts where there is a significant opportunity in generating product sales in gaming and social environments. As a result of the company’s continued success it is now looking to expand its key personnel by recruiting for a Senior Product Manager for virtual goods.
The Role
· Proven experience in ‘trigger marketing’ techniques
· Responsible for the marketing of Virtual Goods Products to social gaming companies (e.g.to use in communicating their emotions by using virtual goods products when they win or lose a game for instance
· Manage the long term Premium Virtual Goods product strategy across mobile & desktop platforms to complement the company’s current network of free ad-based Virtual Goods products
· Define the product vision and ensure deliverables are met in line with the product roadmap
· Decide on product features & ensure appropriate timing when going to market
· Manage approvals process through project teams
· Partner with Acquisition, Business Development, Operations and R&D teams to secure the development and execution against product roadmaps
· Work closely with customer insight group to determine key metrics and benchmarks for product performance and derive plan of action as a result
Requirements
· Minimum 2 years of experience in product management, product marketing or similar position in the Social Gaming Virtual Goods environment
· Strong understanding of the Virtual Goods industry (key players, customer triggers, technology, usage flow)
· Proven experience in devising efficient Customer Retention loops, Call to actions on premium features in Social Games
· Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with internal teams and Senior Management
· Native English speaker or fully bilingual (no intermediate command of English will be considered)
