BoosterMedia is a young and fast growing company, bringing the phenomenal success of social and casual gaming to the open mobile internet.​ We manage mobile gaming portals in over 20 countries. Many of our clients and partners are leading online media and gaming brands.​

 

Our Game Studio specializes in browser-based mobile social games development using HTML5 and mobile optimized Flash. Additionally, Our portals distribute mobile games to consumers via all types of handsets and platforms, including iPhone, Android and Symbian and Bada. We further increase our distribution via different app-stores and social networks.​

 

We have our own in-house mobile games development studio, but we also work with third party game publishers.​ Our portals are currently monetized with mobile advertising and through Freemium models in our social mobile games.​

 

As the online mobile gaming space is a global business, so is the international company culture of our team.​ BoosterMedia is centrally located in the recently opened Dutch Game Garden, the new national gaming center in the heart of Utrecht, The Netherlands.

 


Job description

 

Job Summary and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Lead Game Developer (full time) who is both a skilled programmer and a person who can motivate our team of game developers to successfully complete mobile games. As Lead Game Developer you are responsible for defining our mobile social game frameworks and architecture. You also like to attribute to our Research and Development by keeping up to date with the market, scan new development tools and try innovative technologies. But as a hands-on person, you certainly do enjoy coding and work on innovative gameplay yourself.

 

Our candidate is an all-rounder, is self-motivated and has a keen affinity for game-technology. You are eager to learn about new developments and technologies in the market and are actively looking for ways to apply this to our business. As part of the Game Studio team, you will work closely with developers, designers, project management and the Technology team.

  

We require

  • A computer science (Bachelor or Master level) degree or similar experience
  • A proven track record (4 to 8 years) in a game development role
  • Hands-on experience in leading a team
  • Development experience in Action Script (AS2 and AS3) and Eclipse / Flash builder tools
  • A team player with strong social and communication skills
  • Experience with / interest in Scrum or similar agile development methodologies
  • Good writing and communication skills in English

 

We also prefer

  • Development experience in HTML5, JavaScript, J2ME or similar programming languages
  • Experience in developing for mobile platforms such as iPhone, Symbian or Android
  • Familiarity with integrating social media such as Facebook
  • Knowledge of J2SE and PHP for integrating our back-end server-side applications
