Job Description

A.     Summary of job content

This position’s main role is to design, build, and maintain the Gamania Europe game websites and its Portal.  Additionally, there will be design for print materials like DVDs, posters, T-shirts, and other giveaways & collateral.  Other responsibilities include creating game trailers and viral videos, as well as assisting with game testing/QA and managing all the different creative assets from each game.

B.    Job responsibility

·         Game Websites Design and front-end Development (40% - Responsible to complete task)

·         Gamania Portal Design and front-end Development (10% - Provide Assistance)

·         Game Trailers and Sound Editing (10% - Responsible to complete task)

·         Gamania Forums CSS Editing and Skinning (15% - Responsible to complete task)

·         DVD and Cover Design (5% - Responsible to complete task)

·         Game Testing and QA (5% - Provide Assistance)

·         Game Development Ideas (5% - Provide Assistance)

·          Asset Management (10% - Responsible to complete task)

C.    Possible Challenges

Challenge: Due to Gamania HQ security protocols, only positions labeled I.T. have access to upload files and push websites live, making updates and bug testing very challenging.

Suggestion: Be extremely detailed in conveying what you need and want from the I.T. team.

Challenge: Since Gamania is a very established Asian game company, some teams may or may not be familiar with the European market visual taste and audience.

Suggestion: Continue to suggest and give opinions on what will work best in the western market and explain why with detailed experience and evidence.

Qualifications

A. Knowledge

·         Online and offline gaming experience

·         Web design and web development experience

·         Print design experience

·          Understanding and applying media formats (ie. Benefits of vector images vs raster zed images, the uses of different video formats and codes)

B. Technical skills or certification

·         Media and Design Skills:

o    Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Soundbooth, Fraps

·         Web Development Skills:

o    Visual Studio, Visual Web Developer, HTML, CSS, XML, C#, Actionscript, Firefox, IE7-8+, Chrome, Safari, Opera

·         Other:

o    Microsoft Office, IIS, FTP programs

C. Experience (How many years or the specific previous work experience required)

·         As much gaming experience as possible

·         3-4 years in web design and web development experience

·         2-3 years print design experience

·         5+ years Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Soundbooth, Fraps

·         4+ years Visual Studio, Visual Web Developer

D. Education level
